Country Painting what is it?

Country Painting what is it? Also called Country Art, Country Painting is an art through which you can transform a "flat" drawing into a "three-dimensional" drawing.

You can decorate any object that is made of wood, fabric, terracotta new or "recycled".

The difference in using one support rather than another is only in the preparation of the surfaces before painting them and not in the technique.

The subjects you can paint are really many. In the photos below, you can see some of my projects dedicated to children, made up of teddy bears and funny little animals.

You can create home items like Christmas decorations (my absolute favorites), beautiful door hangers, placemats, paintings, photo frames, aprons, cushions. You can make stunning gifts for your family and friends with your own hands; in short, you can really paint whatever you want!!! 

In my Shop you will find my patterns divided into categories. “All Season” for all seasons, “Autumn” dedicated to autumn, “Christmas & Winter Time” dedicated to the most exciting season of the year, and “Baby” dedicated to children.

Now that you have seen what you can create, let's return to the purpose of this article.

Country Painting what is it ….

The technique of Country Painting is not difficult to learn, in fact, it is very simple, the only thing is that (like all manual arts) it just requires a bit of practice, so don’t get discouraged if you are at the beginning and your work doesn’t come out spectacular right away… it will come with time don’t worry… just keep painting and you will see that you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

Thanks to Country Painting it is possible to transform a simple "flat" drawing into a three-dimensional drawing …. yes, you understood correctly …. three-dimensional!!! 

How to achieve a three-dimensional visual effect

The three-dimensional effect is achieved by adding shadows and highlights in well-defined points of the drawing to give depth to the subject.

Look at these two images for the differences BEFORE and AFTER.

The photo on the left shows what the work looks like after laying down all the base layers; it is clear that the effect achieved is "flat," there is no distinction between the head and the muzzle, the ball is simply a round shape colored red.

Now look at the photo on the right … it’s the same drawing but shaded and blended, see how the ball has transformed, the shadow under the reindeer's neck and the central light have made it appear round, do you see that now the head and muzzle are distinguishable? The nose is rounder … and so on!

Do you understand now that even a simple drawing like this can become a "masterpiece" by simply adding lights, shadows, and details? 

Not to mention that you will also have a lot of fun creating it!!!
